Tihema Baker is a Māori writer of Te Āti Awa ki Whakarongotai, Ngāti Raukawa te Au ki te Tonga, and Ngāti Toa Rangatira. He grew up and lives on the Kāpiti Coast. He has written two Young Adult novels and a number of short stories published in anthologies. In 2020, he studied a Master of Arts in Creative Writing at Te Pūtahi Tuhi Auaha o Te Ao (International Institute of Modern Letters). His folio was a novel satirising contemporary Māori-Pākehā relations, set in a future Earth that has been colonised by aliens.
